Unlike some cruise ships we had no sofa in the cabin as there simply wasn’t the space. View Carnival's cruise ship staterooms, including suites, balconies, oceanviews and interior staterooms. Plus, Cloud 9 Balconies bring health and wellness to your room. With more space for stretching out indoors, plus a large balcony for kicking back outdoors, try an Ocean Suite to experience private, luxurious relaxation.
INSIDE THIS SHIP
The vessel was launched (floated out from drydock) on March 10, 2017, at Fincantieri's Marghera shipyard. The launching featured the traditional “coin ceremony”, consisting in welding a silver coin on the ship's top deck. Godmother of the launching ceremony was Clementina Zecchin (Fincantieri employee). The ceremony was attended by Richard Morse (Carnival's Senior VP Hotel Operations), Fabrizio Timossi (Carnival's Project Manager) and Antonio Quintano (Marghera yard's Director). The cruise ship's maiden voyage in the Mediterranean was from Barcelona. On May 9, the ship repositions to New York (arriving May 23, 2018) for a series of 8-night Caribbean cruises throughout the summer.
Deck 6
Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse Brewhouse isn’t necessarily exclusive to Carnival Horizon, but when it premiered on the ship, it was the first of its kind. Like celebrity chef Guy Fieri’s Guy’s Burger Joint, this restaurant is another collaboration with the Food Network star, providing casual eats in a fun, family-friendly environment. This time, he’s serving up barbecue and Southern-style side dishes, along some mouthwatering desserts. If you do decide to splurge on a little for-a-fee dining, you’ll want to certainly check out the new dining options that are exclusive to the vessel. The third Vista-class ship is Carnival Panorama, which first sailed in late 2019. However, Carnival Panorama stands apart from her sister ships, in that, unlike Carnival Horizon and Carnival Vista, rather than having an IMAX theater, she offers an indoor trampoline park.
Interior with Picture Window (Walkway View)
Carnival Horizon has several other spots where people can relax under the sun. Deck 11 is ideal for people who want to be near the pool deck but away from the sometimes-frantic pace. Deck 11, whether midship or aft, has lounge chairs and tables with chairs all over.
There also are nine heated ceramic lounge chairs, which were well-used on our cruise. The Thermal Suite is free to passengers staying in Cloud 9 Spa cabins but requires an additional fee for anyone else; passengers can purchase a daily pass or one that covers the cruise. The best spot to get a dose of sun (or an appropriate amount of shade) is the Serenity Deck a beautifully relaxing spot for adults only (the minimum age to relax here is 21). Located on the very top deck -- Deck the space is gorgeously appointed, with sun beds, lounge chairs, hammocks and clamshells.
On one deck there is the Havana Bar — a Cuban-themed bar and lounge playing fun Latin music in the evenings. On other decks the decorations for the cabins changes, with different carpeting and doors and retro-style pictures of women that look straight out of a Cuban travel poster greeting guests. While the room is small, it still had all the features you would expect in a typical cruise cabin. There was plenty of closet space, a mini-fridge, and an in-room safe. The interior design was basic and tasteful and simply looked like a normal cruise cabin. Of course, sailing in an interior cabin, we weren’t expecting much more than basic accommodations.
The Ultimate Guide to Carnival Horizon®
Carnival Horizon is a bold, beautiful ship jam-packed with activities, dining options, and bars and lounges galore. The cruise ship is sophisticated and modern, though with Carnival's take on those concepts, which includes bold colors, bright spaces and a heavy dose of fun. Balcony staterooms were designed for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views, so look to a balcony if you're looking to cruise aboard Carnival Horizon.
After an exciting day, you will feel right at home in your comfortable accommodations. The ship offers a wide variety, including spa staterooms, with exclusive privileges at the spa, extra-roomy staterooms in special family-designed staterooms and suites and more. This is an Atrium-located LED sculpture created by kids hospitalized in St Jude Children’s Research Hospital (Memphis TN USA). The 3-deck high artwork was designed by the company Techno Media and consists of 33 different creations, The sculpture's centerpiece has over 2000 flexible LED (custom-made) tiles. This funnel-shaped central part has a height of 24 ft (7,3 m).
Cloud 9 Spa Ocean View (Walkway View)
The SportsSquare, on Deck 12, is a colorful game area that gives passengers the chance to play Twister, four-person Ping-Pong, billiards, and mini-golf, among others. It's as popular with adults as it is with kids, and it's a fun option for families. Indoors off the SportsSquare, you'll find more games, like a giant soccer version of billiards and a huge foosball table that can accommodate many players at once. Here you will set up your boarding information and your onboard expense account. Then, you can print out your boarding pass for embarkation day.
Music and bass was clearly heard in the evenings (including feeling the vibration of the bass in the floor) and went on until about midnight. If you are a light sleeper, we’d suggest looking carefully at the deck plans to make sure you don’t get a room that’s right above a public area. Ocean Suites also include VIP check-in, walk-in closet and bathroom with whirlpool.
If those were some of your go-to excuses, we’re sorry, but we all know this is important. Ah, imagine a perfect day out on the links, the golfer's zen of the ball, the hole and nothing in between but well-manicured fairway... Whoever it was, they had one thing in mind — maximum fun for mini-golfers, big and small! That's precisely why you'll find a course on every Carnival ship, where you can hit the holes and take in everything you’d expect, like the sights and the sounds... Strap in and get ready for a bird’s eye view of the ship—and the ocean—as you zip around the suspended two-lane bike course on Carnival Horizon’s SkyRide®. It may sound fantastical, but the virtual tour will give you a sneak peek of what it will feel like to fly high above deck.
